Cooks Carriages are based in Hockley, allow us to offer our service across Essex and the surrounding counties. We have a team of fully qualified coachmen and immaculately turned out Friesian horses who are well-tempered and highly trained. We are proud to be the longest running carriage company in Essex. We are a family-run company with customer satisfaction at the core of our business.
We own all our own carriages and horses which can be viewed on our farm where we live, we don't sub contract and we are not an agency, so your event starts and ends with us. We don't use plastic exercise harnesses; all of our harnesses are made by traditional craftsmen with English leather. All of our horses and coachmen are dressed in formal attire to make your event as memorable as possible.

Horse Drawn Weddings & Events
We cater for weddings, proms and other events, including team outings, birthdays, and hen/stag parties. Our fleet of Victorian carriages are kept in perfect condition, all with raise-able hoods to counter the spontaneous British weather. Alternatively, you can choose one of our enclosed Cinderella carriages which are both practical and elegant. Our carriages can be decorated with flowers and ribbons to match the theme of your event. Each carriage is pulled by either a pair or a team of up to 6 horses of your choosing.
Horse Drawn Funerals
We also have a fleet of horse drawn hearses available to hire for funerals; many of our black and white hearses are originals which can be pulled by up to 6 horses, completed with matching plumes and drapes. We have years of experience in working closely with funeral directors to organise the procession, so you have one less thing to worry about. The hire is inclusive of our professional, qualified coachmen who will be dressed in formal attire.
